A review of The First Edition of the New Testament by David Trobisch: Published April 2007, in Canadian Evangelical Review, Spring 2007 issue, pgs. 83-86. A critical review of Trobisch’s revisionist interpretation of the canonization of the New Testament; it is not available online.
“Tabernacle, Sinai and the Beloved Son in John’s Prologue”: Presented at the National Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature (New Orleans), Johannine Literature Section, November 22, 2009; the abstract can be read here.

“It’s Greek to Me”: From February to November 2006 and June to July 2007 I wrote a monthly column published in First Edition, the newsletter of my local church. This was a series of Greek word studies, 300-800 words each, written for a lay audience; they are not available online.
Contributing Editor for Salvo Magazine: January 2007 to September 2008.
“Interior Design: DNA and Its Complex Specified Information” (plus two sidebars): Published in June 2006 in Salvo 1, pgs. 76-79. A moderate-length article, it maintains a more positive view of the Intelligent Design movement (and a much more negative view of evolution) than I currently hold; it is available here.
“My So-Called Second Life: Born Again into a Virtual Reality” (plusa sidebar review of Snow Crash, by Neal Stephenson): Published in August 2007, in Salvo 3, pgs. 38-45. A lengthy article on the social impact of Second Life and other “Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games.” Easily the best of the three articles I published in Salvo; it is available here.
“Sex, Drugs and Reproduction: Birth Control is a Messy, Messy Business” (plus “Decoding Contraception” sidebar): Published in September 2008, in Salvo 6, pgs. 32-36. A critical look at the moral and social impact of contraception; available here (NB: As the previous link indicates, this article was substantially revised by the editorial board to make it much more one-sided than I intended, leading to my resignation from Salvo).

The Crux Project: From February 2005 to January 2006, I was a regular contributor to the blogs “New Adventures in Sci-Phi,” “Situation Critical,” and “Signs of the Times,” at the Crux Project. Except for what I have reposted here and what archive.org has preserved, the original three blogs are no longer available, but the newer “Signs of the Times” is here.
Signs of the Times: From January 2006 to February 2008, I was a regular contributor to the second incarnation of “Signs of the Times,” which replaced the Crux blogs when it was renamed Salvo. This blog remains active; my posts and comments can be found here.
C. Orthodoxy: Until February 2009, it was hosted on Blogger, since then it has been here. All old posts and comments have been transferred, but some retain internal links pointing to Blogger.
A review of the film Atonement: In August 2008, it was chosen as Runner-Up (Second Place) in the Looking Closer Review Contest. It focuses on the film’s presentation of corporate evil, and is available here.
