Christian Carnival 274

This week’s carnival is at It includes my post on A Gracious Father or an Unjust Judge.

And while I’m at it, I might as well mention a few interesting items I’ve run across lately (those on Twitter may have already seen them):

Internet Monk has a good post on Susan Boyle and ugly ordinary Christians, and Christ and Pop Culture links to a harsh but not entirely unfair commentary on our collective reaction:

Susan will probably win Britain’s Got Talent. She will be the little munter that could sing, served up for the British public every Saturday night. Look! It’s “ugly”! It sings! And I know that we think that this will make us better people. But Susan Boyle will be the freakish exception that makes the rule. By raising this Susan up, we will forgive ourselves for grinding every other Susan into the dust. It will be a very partial and poisoned redemption.

The Telegraph has a troubling but fascinating article about the amount of plastic trash that is building up in our oceans, well worth a read.

And definitely check out Carmen’s post on our society’s loss of genuine community.
